Optical cables have the advantages of small size, light weight, large communication capacity, long relay distance, strong anti-interference ability, small attenuation coefficient, etc. According to different types of optical cables, they can be divided into direct burial, pipeline, overhead and other laying methods. It is mainly used in long-distance communication system and local and rural communication lines; It can also be used for transmission lines of power system and CATV system.

1. The optical fiber is made of SiO2 material through special processing and cannot withstand pressure and impact, so care should be taken during storage and construction to avoid core breakage.


2. Plastics have excellent mechanical and physical properties and environmental resistance, but can not withstand the impact and abrasion of hard and sharp objects.


3. Pay special attention when unloading optical cables. One of the following methods can be used for unloading:


3.1 When unloading the optical cable, it is better to use a forklift or hoist to gently place the optical cable from the vehicle on the ground.


3.2 When unloading optical cables, place a straight wooden board between the truck platform and the ground to form a slope with an angle of less than 45 °. When the optical cable slides along the slope, use a rope to pass through the middle hole of the optical cable, and then pull both ends of the rope on the vehicle to make the optical cable reel slide at a uniform speed; Or place several cushions at the lower end of the slope, (such as worn tires) and the optical cable will slide down the slope. It is forbidden to roll the optical cable directly off the truck, which may cause damage to the optical cable.


4. When transporting optical cables, cable reels shall not be placed horizontally or stacked; The reel mounted optical cable shall roll in the direction of the rotation arrow marked on the reel, but shall not roll for a long distance; Protect from dampness and prolonged exposure; The storage and transportation temperature shall be controlled within - 40~+60 ℃.


5. During laying, the pulling force and bending radius shall not exceed its bearing limit to avoid breaking the optical fiber.
